About the Stapler > Disassembly / ReassemblyDisassembly- Take the plastic top cover off of the stapler, remove top spring, and top tab and screw. (Difficulty = 7, needed strength & small Phillips screwdriver)
Slide metal axle and plastic bearing from the hinges of the base, removing the hinging metal component. (Difficulty =1) Remove the metal component from the base. (Difficulty = 1) Open the metal component and remove the slide and the slide spring (Difficulty = 2) Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the interior bottom slide housing from the bottom slide housing. (Difficulty = 4)
Reassembly- Attach slide spring to slide and top slide housing. (Difficulty = 3)
Pop interior bottom slide housing back onto bottom slide housing, making sure to include the interior spring. Then, attach slide to bottom slide housing. (Difficulty = 7) Place metal component (with top slide housing hinge aligned with bottom slide housing hinge aligned) and plastic bearing on base and carefully run the metal axle through the parts. (Difficulty = 6, have to have all parts aligned perfectly)
Using small Phillips head screwdriver, srew top tab back onto top plastic cover. Then, place top spring in slot of plastic cover, and push plastic cover onto the metal axle running through the metal component and base. (Difficulty = 8, must use a lot of strength to pop the top back onto the axle)
